No struggling w/ the belt hoops, and since I use suspenders (under my 100% poly long-sleeve shirt) as LBE (load-bearing equipment), I can easily hook them onto the belt between the hoops in the back. This frees up the normal R-hand pocket for a few handy wire nuts, self-drilling screws, and brass 1/4' access valve caps, instead of the whole kit and kaboodle.
